Commercial & Industrial HVAC Projects

Design, installation and commissioning of commercial HVAC systems and commercial ventilation systems across industrial sites and mission-critical buildings.

From single boiler replacements to full system retrofits, delivered by our own engineers and backed by DCC plc.

We work as principal contractor or specialist subcontractor, depending on the project. Since 2008, we have delivered projects across the UK, from single boiler swaps to multi-million pound plant room rebuilds.

Expertise That Keeps Your Operations Moving

These are the situations that bring most clients to us. If any of them describe what you are dealing with, the conversation usually starts with a site assessment.

Ageing or Inefficient Plant

Repair costs climbing, efficiency falling. Time to weigh up a planned replacement against another year of patching.

Change of Use

Original systems designed for a time gone by and needs have since changed.

Rising Energy Costs

Older plant is burning more energy than it should. The payback maths on a modern system finally adds up.

Decarbonisation

Net Zero commitments, MCP deadlines and tenant pressure are forcing a shift away from gas.

Compliance Change

F-Gas phase-down, the 2030 MCP deadline or a Building Safety Act review has put existing plant on borrowed time.

Capability That Drives Project Success

Heating, cooling, controls and everything in between. Here is what our project teams deliver.

Heating Upgrades

Commercial boiler replacements, cascade systems, plate heat exchangers and distribution upgrades. Gas, LPG, oil or electric, across any commercial building type.

Cooling & AC Projects

Commercial AC installation across chillers, VRF and VRV systems, split systems and close-control cooling. From a single commercial AC unit installation in a server room through to building-wide cooling for process-critical areas.

Low Carbon and Heat Pumps

Air source and ground source heat pump installations, including hybrid systems that pair heat pumps with your existing gas plant for phased decarbonisation.

Plant Room Refurbishment

Full plant room strip-out and rebuild, covering primary and secondary pipework, pumps, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, controls and insulation.

Pipework and Distribution

LTHW, CHW and condenser water pipework installations. Pipe sizing, pump selection, balancing and commissioning by our directly employed teams. Fabricated on site or pre-fabricated off site.

Industrial Process

Process heating and cooling for industrial production environments. Ovens, dryers, manufacturing plants and commercial laundries.

Controls & BMS

Building management system integration, control panel upgrades, sensor installation and sequence commissioning. So the new plant talks properly to the rest of your building.

Funded Finance Projects

We offer funded finance options for capital projects, helping you spread the cost of major HVAC installations over an agreed term. Whether it’s a full plant room refurbishment, heat pump installation or building – wide system upgrade, funded finance means you can proceed without the upfront capital outlay.

*Subject to consultation. Finance options are assessed on a project-by-project basis.

Delivering Quality, Safety, and Reliability

A seven-step process from first conversation through to ongoing maintenance. Every project is owned by a dedicated project manager who coordinates engineers, procurement and your operations team from initial consultation through aftercare.

1

Initial Consultation

What We Do

We start with a conversation. Your requirements, timescales, budget and any operational constraints affecting the building. The point is to understand the brief properly before we commit to a site visit, and to make sure a survey is the right next step.

What You Get

  • Requirements and constraints documented
  • Honest budget and timelines before any survey work
  • A clear decision on whether a full site assessment is the right next step
2

Site Survey & Assessment

What We Do

Our engineers visit site to assess the existing installation, building structure, access routes and services. We review existing drawings, audit plant condition against your asset register, and talk to the people who run the building day to day.

What You Get

  • Condition report on existing plant
  • Capacity and load calculations
  • A clear decision on whether a full site assessment is the right next step
3

Design & Proposal

What We Do

Each option includes a specification, equipment schedule, programme with a fixed price, so you can compare the trade-offs properly before deciding.

What You Get

  • Multiple options with cost and performance trade-offs explained
  • Fixed-price proposal with no hidden extras
  • Equipment specifications and layout drawings
4

Procurement & Planning

What We Do

We order equipment, agree access with your site team and finalise the installation programme. Noisy or disruptive work is scheduled around your operating hours, not ours.

What You Get

  • Equipment ordered with lead times confirmed
  • Risk assessments and method statements signed off
  • Programme aligned to your operations schedule
5

Installation & Delivery

What We Do

All installations are carried out by directly employed Protech engineers. Your project manager provides weekly progress updates and coordinates with your operations team. Work is phased so heating or cooling stays on while we run.

What You Get

  • Weekly progress reports and site updates
  • Work phased to minimise disruption to your operations
  • Quality inspections at every stage
6

Commissioning & Testing

What We Do

Every system is commissioned to design parameters. We record commissioning data, run performance tests and verify control sequences. Where a BMS is specified, we commission the full points list and alarm strategy alongside your facilities team.

What You Get

  • System performing to design specification
  • Commissioning data recorded and documented
  • Controls and BMS verified and signed off
7

Handover & Aftercare

What We Do

You receive a complete handover pack: as-built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning records, warranty certificates and a recommended maintenance schedule. We walk your facilities team through the new installation before we leave site.

What You Get

  • Full documentation pack for your records
  • Your team trained on operation and maintenance
  • Ongoing aftercare and planned maintenance available

Compliance and Safety

Compliance is the baseline of every commercial HVAC installation we run. Working at height, hot works, electrical isolation, refrigerant handling and confined spaces are routine on our project sites. Every project runs under a dedicated SSTS certified supervisor, with site-specific risk assessments and method statements signed off before any work begins.

Our engineers hold CSCS, PASMA and IPAF certifications. All gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, and all refrigerant work by F-Gas qualified technicians.

  • SafeContractor approved
  • BESA Member
  • Gas Safe registered
  • NICEIC approved
  • REFCOM (F-Gas) certified
  • OFTEC registered
  • CSCS / PASMA / IPAF certified
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001

What you receive at handover

  1. As-built drawings
  2. Equipment manuals & O&Ms
  3. Commissioning records & test results
  4. Warranty certificates
  5. Recommended maintenance schedule
  6. Photographic evidence
  7. Site walkthrough with your team
